नमस्कार दोस्तों, in this blog, I will tell you how India helps its neighbouring coutries providing big amout as development assistance every year. We will know how much have Finance Minister allocated for other coutries in budget 2021 as development assistance. We will also know why India helps other coutries. We will know everything about the facts. Let's start with me.
Government of India will give a big amount of Rs 7148 crore to other countries as development assistance for the financial year FY-22. Last time, for the FY-21, It was Rs 5369 crore as development assistance to neighbouring coutries. The amount will be given to neighboring countries, countries from Latin America and South Africa. FM Nirmala Sitharaman allocated Rs 18154 crore from the Ministry of External Affair (MEA) for the FY-22, which includes aid of Rs 7148 crore for 20 countries: Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afganistan, Maldives, Mynmaar, Mauritius, Mongolia, Seychelles, South African and Lantin American countries. Total amount of Rs 100 crore is also allocated for Chabahar port in Iran, this amount can be spent only if US removes sanctioned imposed on Iran.
- Bhutan will get Rs 3004 crore.
- Nepal will get Rs 992 crore.
- Myanmar will get Rs 400 crore
- Afaganistan will get Rs 350 crore.
- Sri Lanka will get Rs 200 crore.
- Bangladesh will get Rs 200 crore.
- Maldives will get Rs 250 crore.
- Mauritius will get 900 crore.
- Seychelles will get 160 crore.
Instead of development assistance, India also provided corona virus vaccine to many countries under the operation Vaccine Maitri, which provided freely. The amount of Rs 7148 crore will be given as development assistance not as loan like China.
Now, You may think that why is India giving such a big amount to other countries, whereas There is a lot of poverty in India. And the reason is China. Yes, due to China's loan policy, India gives development assistance to neighbours country every year so that these countries shouldn't get caught in China's loan trap policy.
What China does ?
China gives billions of dollar as loan at high interest rate to these small countries in the region: Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Maldives, Afaganistan, Seychelles, Myanmar. When country has not paid the loan, China takes over some land/port/department of the country for the long period. China uses these port/land as its Army/Naval bases. Latest example of China's loan trap policy is Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has given its Hambantota port to China on lease for 99 years. Because Sri Lanka couldn't repay China's loan. In this way through loan policy, China is increasing its influence in the region which is the major threat for India's security.
Last year India also helped Mauritius, so that Mauritius could pay interest of China's loan. That's why India need to help its neighborhood countries, so that they shouldn't become pro-China. This is the all about why India gives big amount to its neighborhood countries and China loan trap policy.
