PM Modi inaugurated India's first ever driver-less train on Delhi Metro’s Magenta line

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first driverless train on Delhi metro’s magenta line (Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden) on Monday at 11:00 AM. Later, this will be extended to pink line (Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar) by 2021.

PM Modi said: "The inauguration of the first driver-less metro train shows how fast India is moving towards smart systems", Prime Minister Modi also said “The first Metro in Delhi was started with the efforts of Atal Ji (former PM of India). When our govt was formed in 2014, only five cities had metro services and today 18 cities have Metro rail service. By 2025, we will take this service to more than 25 cities.”

During this virtual function, Prime Minister also launched the NCMC (National Common Mobility Card: One Nation, One Card initiative) service on Airport Express line. NCMC service will allow passengers to use their RuPay debit card issued by 23 banks in last 18 months for metro travel Airport Express line. NCMC service will be available on entire Delhi metro’s network by 2022.
