SAMSUNG to invest Rs 4825 crore in Noida, shifting from China to India

 SAMSUNG will invest Rs 4825 crore in Noida (UP) to manufacture display products of mobile phones.

South Korean electronic giant Samsung is setting up India's first and largest mobile display plant in Noida investing Rs 4825 crore. UP Govt approved the project under the UP Electronics Policy 2017 also provided the special incentives. Production of display products at Noida unit, is expected to start from April 2021. Manufacturing of mobile display at Noida is the first in India and third in the world which have OLED technology assembly facilities.

At present, Samsung manufactures OLED screen in South Korea and assembly is done in Vietnam and China. Now, Samsung is shifting its China's unit to India. After operational of this project, India would be third country in the world where Samsung will manufacture smartphone display.

More than 70% display used in mobile phones, tablets, TV etc. across the world are manufactured by Samsung in South Korea, Vietnam and China.

This project will attract more FDI in UP and global identity as export hub. This project will generate thousands of employment.
