The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday successfully conducted the test fire of the Akash New Generation ( Akash-NG) missile. Defence Minister, Government of India, Rajnath Singh congratulated the team for the successfully test fired of Akash Next-Generation (Akash-NG) surface to air missile. "Akash-NG “is a new generation Surface to Air Missile meant for use by Indian Air Force with an aim of intercepting high maneuvering low RCS (Radar Cross Section) aerial threats.” The Indian Express. The Akash-NG system has been developed with better deployability as compared to other missile systems. The test was launched by a combined team of DRDO, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in the presence of the Air Force representatives.According to officials Akash-NG missile will boost to Indian Air Force (IAF). Missile intercepted the target with textbook precision and launch met launch met all the test objectives by performing high maneuvers during the trajectory. The performance of the Command and Control system, onboard avionics and aerodynamic configuration of the missile was successfully validated during the trial.
