I have covered about Central Vista project in detail in Central Vista part-1. Now let's star about controversy. In April 2020, a petition had been filed in Supreme Court by petitioner Rajeev Suri. Rajeev Suri challenged that Central Vista Project is violating the citizen's Right to Life under the article 21. Further, He argued that project is also violating the Master Plan of Delhi 2021 and other municipal's laws. So hearing was going on in the Supreme Court and Supreme Court ordered to government to halt all kind of construction on this project until it decides on petitions challenging Central Vista redevelopment project. Final hearing held in October and November 2020. Supreme Court reserved its judgement on November 5, 2020. However, SC allowed government allowed "Bhoomi Poojan", but no construction should be done.

Finally, Supreme Court announced judgment on January 5, 2020. A bench of 3 Justices pronounced the 2-1 judgment. Supreme Court, in 2-1 majority judge gave all clearance to mega Central Vista redevelopment Project on December 5, 2021 and now government can start construction.
