Ban Whatsapp and Facebook: CAIT to Government

नमस्कार दोस्तों, in today's blog, we will talk about that the Trader's body, CAIT wrote to Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to ban Whatsapp and Facebook in India. I will tell you everything about the matter. Let's start with me.

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is India's apex trade body representing and empowering seven crore traders and over 40,000 trade associations.

"The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Sunday wrote to Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad demanding that the government restrict Whatsapp from implementing its new privacy policy or impose a ban on the messaging app and its parent company Facebook": The Indian Express.

CAIT shared letter over Twitter written to Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in which CAIT said Facebook had more than 200 million users in India and enabling it to access data of every user can pose serious threat to not only the economy but even to the security of the country.

In my blog 'Whatsapp forces users to share data with Facebook: New Policy', I explained in detail about new policies of Whatsapp. CAIT claimed that "All kinds of personal data, payment transactions, contracts, location and other vital information of a person who is using Whatsapp will be acquired by it and can be used for any purpose by Whatsapp". CAIT has demanded that government should immediately restrict Whatsapp from implementing the new policy or put ban on Whatsapp and its parent Company Facebook.

However, in the response to email to PTI, a Whatsapp spokesperson said "Whatsapp remain deeply committed to protecting people's privacy. We are communicating directly with users through Whatsapp about these changes so they have time to review the new policy over the course of the next month": The Indian Express.

This is the end of blog. Please tell us in comment section, what do you think about new policies of Whatsapp??

Thanking you
