Hope, we all heard the name of Jack Ma, a Chinese business
magnate, investor and philanthropist. He is co founder and former executive
chairman of Alibaba group. It is believed that Alibaba is the world's largest
retailer and e-commerce Company. In 2020, Alibaba was also rated as 5th
largest Artificial Intelligence Company. As of July 2020, Jack Ma is the second
wealthiest person in China having net worth of $48.2 billion.
Now, let's see what happened to Jack Ma. His social media
accounts have been inactive for more than two months. He has also not made any
public appearance since November. Chinese Govt is also doing investigating
against his companies. Due to all these, it is considered that Jack Ma is
suspected to be missed.
In October 2020, Jack Ma have delivered a controversial
speech criticizing China's regulators and state owned traditional banking
system called "pawnshops". He also accused the financial and
regulatory system of China for stifling innovation. Moreover he said we can
change it using Artificial Intelligence. After his severe criticism, in
November 2020 Chinese President Xi Jinping decided to cancel Ant's (sister firm
of Alibaba) IPO. In December 2020, Regulators announced an antitrust
investigation against Alibaba and Chinese Govt ordered to Jack Ma to pare down Fintech
Empire.
Seeing it all, it is suspected that Jack Ma is missing. Although
it is not confirmed but assumed that Chinese govt has detained Jack Ma. Now the
question: Is it first time when any Chinese billionaire missing? And the answer
is: No. Xian Jianhua has also been missing since 2018 because of targeting
Chinese banking system. During COVID-19, Ren Zhiqiang criticized Chinese
President Xi Jinping and Communist Party of China. He is big business tycoon
and Chinese Govt sent him to jail for 18 year. And this time Jack Ma is missing.
