in today's blog, we will talk about cancellation of Boris Johnson's Republic
day visit to India. We will discuss everything why PM Johnson cancelled his

Every year on 26 January, India celebrates its republic day and India has been inviting head of state as chief guest for republic day parade since 1950. Last year, Jair Bolsonaro, President of Brazil was chief guest on republic day. This year Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson was invited as chief guest on republic day parade. But yesterday PM Johnson cancelled his republic day visit to India. Major reason behind the cancellation of his visit is spreading of new variant of corona virus in UK.

corona virus is spreading with great speed in England and PM Boris Johnson announced nationwide lock down in England. Therefore, PM Johnson cancelled his
republic day visit to India. News is confirmed by Downing Street (10 Downing
Street is the official residence of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.):
"In the light of the national lockdown announced in England and the speed
at which the new corona virus variant is spreading, the prime minister said
that it was important for him to remain in the UK so he can focus on the
domestic response to the virus". Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to
Prime Minister Modi on yesterday morning to express his regret that he will be
unable to visit India later this month as planned. Further UK government said
"Prime Minister Boris Johnson hopes to be able to visit India in the first
half of 2021 and ahead of the UK's G7 submit that Prime Minister Narendra Modi
is due to attend as a guest".
Now,
let's talks about India. As on January 5, total 58 positive cases were found of
new variant of corona virus. On January 4, the number was 38. But good news is
that India has isolated and cultured new variant of corona and India has become
first country in the world to do so. In future, it will help in the development
of vaccine for new corona virus variant.
